River Dart - Daily Updates
Keep checking in here for regular updates on the Year 6 trip to the River Dart...
After a stop for lunch and an ice cream, the coach has now left Leigh Delamere Services and will be back at school just before 4pm. If there are any further updates these will be communicated to parents via text.
And they're off!
We will send another update when the coach stops for lunch and will text parents with an ETA upon their departure from the Services.
We’ve all had another delicious cooked breakfast and a presentation of certificates. We are now finishing our packing before loading up the coach. We’ve had a great week of activities and are all looking forward to coming home, including the staff!

The staff and children have been off-site today climbing and hiking. They are having a good day in the sun and photos will be uploaded to the link below once they get back to signal and wi-fi!
We’ve all had a good night’s sleep and a delicious breakfast: getting used to cooked breakfasts everyday! The sun is shining and we are off up to Dartmoor to do some climbing.

Mrs Tong fell in the lake while trying to get out of her kayak! We've all had an action-packed day on the lake and zip wire. Looking forward to the climbing wall later...
Today’s update so far… Group 1 and 2 have been busy up in the trees doing zip lines and building towers with crates. Group 3 have been kayaking and canoeing in the sun - one person fell in a record seven times! Lots of smiling children heading back for lunch shortly.

Day 2 Summary: After dorm inspections and breakfast we all headed out to build rafts and do some races. The teachers had a go and all of our rafts successfully stayed afloat and the children (and adults) enjoyed splashing in the water.
This afternoon was time for the High Ropes. Lots of us were nervous going up in the trees but we all did a really good job of encouraging each other. There was a massive downpour this afternoon so we got wet and after dinner (and birthday cake) we set off for an orienteering activity before bed. We’ve all had a busy day and are looking forward to a good sleep tonight!

This afternoon the children have been rafting and had a competition to try and beat the teachers! We are having some technical difficulties with uploading photos to the website but as soon as they have been resolved there will be lots to look at!
Yesterday afternoon we did a round robin activity which the children loved. Almost all of the children ended up in the river including Mr Cole and Mrs Barlow which they thought was hilarious! After dinner the children took part in a mini Olympics on the lawn and settled well at bedtime.

After having hot dogs for lunch the children had a welcome meeting and watched a safety video.

The coach has stopped for a snack in the sun and toilet break. ETA is now around 1pm.
