Travel Plan

The school holds the Modeshift Stars Silver Accreditation for supporting sustainable travel to school.  Initiatives run throughout the year including 'Bike to School Week',  'Be Bright, Be Seen' Day, Footsteps Pedestrian Training, Park Away Days, Bikeability Training and the 'Sustrans Big Walk and Wheel' event which runs over a 2 week period. Our Travel Plan Co-Ordinator is Miss Telfer.

Park Away Days

To continue our excellent work and strive to again achieve a 'Platinum Travel Plan' we are continuing to run our 'Park Away Days' on the last Friday of each month.

On this day there is no parking at the front of the school. Children and parents (or just children if you choose to drop off your child) can meet school staff at Eskdale Road Community Centre, The Bell, The Bull or at the allotment parking area on Lower Road where the Walking Bus will depart at 8.25am and 8.35am (no staff will be left at the drop-off points after the second departure).

We are hopeful that this initiative continues to be a huge success to help encourage more families to 'Park and Stride' to school and ease congestion in the layby and nearby roads.

We are always in need of adult helpers to meet at the drop-off points and help to escort the children to school. We ideally need two adult helpers for each walking group so if you can assist either on a one-off or regular basis then please email the School Office marking your email ‘FAO Miss Telfer – Walking School Bus’.
