Deaf Awareness Day
On Friday 6th June our school celebrated diversity and focussed the day's learning on Deaf Awareness.
Each class was able to join in with a BSL session where all of their taught skills were put to the test when playing lots of team guessing games. Every class also had the opportunity to ask and share answers about hearing technology, how it works and how the tech differs from person to person. Some of our ARP children were confident to share their own views and teach their class from their point of view. Being able to listen to a hearing aid through an attenuator was very popular throughout the school! Classes also had a text or theme to follow that focussed their learning on how to be more Deaf Aware and support others around us.
